Dáil Éireann - Volume 315 - 26 June, 1979

Trustee Savings Banks Bill, 1979: Order for Second Stage.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Colley): I move: “That the Second Stage be ordered for Wednesday 27 June 1979.”

Mr. P. Barry: I am aware of the Government's desire to get business through quickly but that Bill was in the post this morning. It was this morning that most Deputies, including myself, [1004] got it. That also applies to Nos. 3 and 4 on the Order Paper. All these Bills were circulated only today.

Mr. Colley: That Bill is through the Seanad as far as I know.

Mr. P. Barry: We only got it in the post this morning. I agree with it being taken tomorrow but I am just registering the fact that this and the Tourist Bill and the B & I Bill were all in Deputies' post this morning only and the Government now tell us that these are urgent matters to be got through the House this week.

Mr. Colley: You do not have to agree.

An Leas-Cheann Comhairle: We cannot debate this matter. Is tomorrow agreed?

Mr. Horgan: Subject to agreement by the Whips.

Question put and agreed to.
