Dr. O'Connell asked the Minister for Social Welfare if his Department have any plans to conduct a survey on the numbers and needs of single parent families in Ireland. Mr. Haughey Mr. Haughey Mr. Haughey: A survey on the lines suggested is not contemplated at present. Information as to particular needs of single parent families is, however, provided from time to time by the various organisations concerned with such families and is taken into consideration when reviewing social welfare schemes. Dr. O'Connell Dr. O'Connell Dr. O'Connell: Through his Department, would the Minister consider making a grant available for such a survey to be conducted by some organisation?
