Dáil Éireann - Volume 294 - 23 November, 1976 Written Answers. - Road Grant Allocations. Mr. Cronin Mr. Cronin Mr. Meaney Mr. Meaney 105. Mr. Meaney and Mr. Cronin asked the Minister for Local Government the road grant that he is allocating to Cork County Council for 1977; and the percentage of vehicle tax collected in County Cork that will be refunded to them. Minister for Local Government (Mr. Tully) James Tully Minister for Local Government (Mr. Tully): The grant allocations for 1977 have not yet been determined. Road Fund grants are not made on the basis of a refund of a proportion of motor tax collected in any particular area, whether the area comprises a county, a county borough or an urban district. Apart from this, Cork County Council are the licensing authority for both the city and the county of Cork and accordingly, available statistics do not distinguish the amounts of collection separately referable to either area.
