Mr. Faulkner Mr. Faulkner 17.Mr. Faulkner asked the Minister for Local Government if his attention has been drawn to recent reports which state that underground sources of water are more economical than traditional lake or river sources; and the action his Department is taking to minimise the cost of providing public water supplies. Mr. Tully Mr. Tully 768 [768] Mr. Tully: In the planning of water supply schemes the economics of alternative sources are examined and the advantages of utilising any underground sources of water which are available in adequate quantity and quality convenient to the area of need are fully considered.
