[487] 101. Mr. T.J. Fitzpatrick (Dublin Central) asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if a complaint from a subscriber (details supplied) in Dublin concerning nuisance telephone calls has been investigated by his Department; and, if so, the action taken in the matter.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Dr. Cruise-O'Brien): Such a complaint made by the subscriber early in April has been under investigation but the source of the calls has not been traced. A change of telephone number, the new number to be exdirectory, has been recommended to the subscriber. If agreed to, arrangements will be made accordingly.

102. Mr. Brennan asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider the special need for a public telephone in the vicinity of the Irish College at Loughanure, County Donegal; and if he will have a kiosk erected there.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Dr. Cruise-O'Brien): Kiosks are not provided in rural areas such as Loughanure where there is no post office. As regards the Irish College, there is a rented coinbox line in the technical school where college classes and functions are held.

103. Mr. J. O'Leary asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the cause of the unusually long delay in providing a telephone service for a person (name supplied) in County Kerry.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Dr. Cruise-O'Brien): Attention to the application in question, which was received in November, 1974, has been deferred because of the extensive linework required and the number of similar waiting applications made prior to November, 1974. It is hoped to provide service during the first quarter of next year.
