Desmond asked the Minister for Transport and Power the number of Irish registered ships and tonnage at 1st January, 1976; the number of personnel at sea on Irish ships on 1st January, 1976; the number of shore personnel of the B & I Shipping Company and Irish Shipping Ltd. on 1st January, 1976; the number of seamen on Irish registered ships; and the number injured and killed while serving on ships during each year from 1970 to date.
