15. Mr. Lemass asked the Minister for Labour the present position regarding the control and maintenance of sand washing plants throughout the State.

Mr. M. O'Leary: Sand washing plants throughout the State are inspected regularly by the industrial inspectorate of my Department under the Mines and Quarries Act, 1965, and the Factories Act, 1955, for the purpose of ensuring the safety, health and welfare of the workers.
