14. Mr. Moore asked the Minister for Labour the number of workers made redundant in the furniture manufacturing industry during 1975.

Mr. M. O'Leary: The number of redundancies in furniture making and [1144] upholstering notified during 1975 as being qualified for redundancy payments under the Redundancy Payments Acts was 247.

Mr. Moore: Has the Minister any idea how they could be absorbed back into the industry?

Mr. G. Fitzgerald: Would the Irish Life contract help?

Mr. M. O'Leary: The premium employment programme is available.
