[243] 18. Mrs. Lynch asked the Minister for Health if he will make provision for a capital grant towards an EMI scanner for the National Neurosurgical Centre at St. Laurence's Hospital, Dublin.

Mr. Corish: The capital funds available to me for 1975 have been allocated and it is not possible to allocate a grant this year for the purchase of an EMI scanner, which costs approximately £190,000, with attachments. The application will, however, be considered further when the hospital capital programme for 1976 is being drawn up.
