Mr. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will introduce a scheme for the provision of assistance to sheep farmers to fatten mountain lambs for the Christmas market. Mr. Clinton Mr. Clinton Mr. Clinton: The extension to the mountain lamb subsidy scheme which has been in operation for the past few years has provided assistance to sheep farmers to fatten mountain lambs. Under this scheme wether lambs which had earlier been in receipt of the mountain lamb subsidy qualified for a further subsidy when fattened and presented for export either live or at carcase export premises in the period from September until the following April. Mr. Callanan Mr. Callanan Mr. Callanan: When is it likely that the Minister will announce that he is either continuing or discontinuing the scheme?
