Dáil Éireann - Volume 280 - 08 May, 1975 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Farm Safety Standards. Mr. Meaney Mr. Meaney 34. Mr. Meaney asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if, in view of the fact that many farm accidents result from people becoming entangled in the PTO shafts of agricultural machinery, he will make safety standards in this country comparable to those in other European countries. Mr. Clinton Mr. Clinton 1539 [1539] Mr. Clinton: The introduction of safety standards as suggested would require legislation, which I do not consider warranted at present.
