10. Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Local Government if he will pay an ex-gratia allowance to town clerks acting as returning officers in the 1974 local government elections.

Minister for Local Government (Mr. Tully): I have had representations [754] seeking fees or ex-gratia payments for town clerks for acting as returning officers at local government elections. I have arranged for a discussion of the matter with the appropriate trade union.
