1. Mr. Wilson asked the Taoiseach when the director of the new Arts Council will be appointed.

The Taoiseach: The appointment of the director is a matter for An Chomhairle Ealaíon. In accordance with the provisions of the Arts Acts, 1951 and 1973, they have recently sought my approval to certain terms and conditions of appointment and these are under consideration.

Mr. Wilson: Would the Taoiseach like to indicate when the committees, as envisaged in the Bill, will be formed?
