[375] 19. Mr. J. O'Leary asked the Minister for Education the present position concerning the acquisition of a site for the proposed community school and recreation centre at Castletownbere, County Cork.

Mr. R. Burke: Negotiations are proceeding in connection with the question of a site for a community school. I am not in a position to give further information at this stage.

Mr. O'Sullivan: In view of the fact that sites are scarce in the Castletownbere district and the fact that a suitable site has been offered would the Minister take steps to acquire it as quickly as possible?

Mr. R. Burke: I am taking steps to acquire it as quickly as possible but my desire to acquire it does not necessarily mean that all the conditions of acquiring are met.
