Lynch asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the efforts, if any, that are being made by the IDA to establish a factory on their site at Castleisland, County Kerry. Minister for Industry and Commerce (Mr. Keating) Justin Keating Minister for Industry and Commerce (Mr. Keating): I have been informed that continuous efforts are being made by the Industrial Development Authority to interest industrialists in locating a project on the eight-acre site at Castleisland, County Kerry, which was bought by the authority earlier this year. While the authority have had an inquiry from a firm interested in locating at Castleisland they have not yet received a firm proposal. Mr. G. Lynch Mr. G. Lynch 16. Mr. G. Lynch asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when the building of the proposed advance factory on the IDA site in Listowel, County Kerry is likely to commence. Mr. Keating Mr. Keating 1515 Mr. Keating: I have been informed by the Industrial Development [1515] Authority that work on the advance factory at Listowel is expected to commence in March, 1974. Mr. J. O'Leary Mr. J. O'Leary 17. Mr. J. O'Leary asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the efforts that are being made by the IDA to attract additional industry to Kenmare, County Kerry where there is a surplus labour force available. Mr. Keating Mr. Keating Mr. Keating: I understand that the Industrial Development Authority are making every effort to ensure that the target of 300 new manufacturing jobs set in their regional plan for 1973-77 for the town grouping Cahirciveen, Kenmare and Waterville will be reached, and they are confident that it will be.
