14. Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Health if he will state in respect of the latest year for which figures are available the total number of operations performed in Irish hospitals and the number performed under each classification.

Mr. Corish: This information is not at present available. However, the Medico-Social Research Board are carrying out a hospital in-patient survey which covers data of the kind the Deputy requires. Accordingly, as comprehensive information becomes available the significant over-all figures will be published.
