20. Mr. Lemass asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if Ireland has any interest in participating in the genetic bank for potatoes, Braunschweig-Volkenrode, which is being set up by the Federal Republic of Germany, the Netherlands and perhaps countries in South America.

Mr. Clinton: I will have inquiries made by my Department in regard to this particular genetic bank but I can say that a proposal a few years ago that OECD should set up one was not proceeded with due to lack of support from member countries.
