168. Dr. Loughnane and Mr. Callanan asked the Minister for Education if it is intended to close the two-teacher national school at Kilbeacanty, Gort, County Galway.

[33] Minister for Education (Mr. R. Burke): There has been consultation between my Department and the parents of the Kilbeacanty National School district and my information is that the parents will agree to the amalgamation of the school with Scoil Náisiúnta Bhaile Tuirinne when the latter school has been suitably extended and renovated. Arrangements are being proceeded with on that basis.
