Mr. Tully asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if his Department have completed their examination [1677] of the report on the Inter-Departmental Committee on Agricultural Wages and Holiday Legislation which was circulated on 3rd December 1971; and if he will indicate when the legislative proposals will be published.

Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (Mr. Gibbons): The recommendations in the report to which the Deputy refers have been the subject of discussions with representatives of agricultural employers and workers who have shown some differences in approach to the matters involved. The results of the discussions are at present under consideration in my Department and it is not yet possible to say when final proposals will be formulated.
