23. Mr. Corish asked the Minister for Education why his Department has indicated that it intends to discontinue grants in three years time for senior cycle pupils in two Buttevant, County Cork, post-primary schools.

Mr. Faulkner: These are two of the schools to which such notice was sent. I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave in this House in relation [835] to this matter on the 13th April. The question of whether agreement could be obtained between the schools in Doneraile and Buttevant to establish one full post-primary school in this area is being explored. A meeting of all the interests concerned to discuss this matter has been called by my Department and will be held shortly in Doneraile.
