Dáil Éireann - Volume 260 - 18 April, 1972 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry TV Transposer Station. Mr. Begley Mr. Begley 58. Mr. Begley asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why the booster television station at Cahirciveen, County Kerry, is continually breaking down; and if he will take steps to remedy the matter. Mr. G. Collins Mr. G. Collins Mr. G. Collins: The improvement of reception of Radio Telefís Éireann programmes is primarily a matter for the authority. I understand that, although there have been very few instances of breakdown in the past 12 months, RTE are not satisfied with the present standard of service given by the transposer at Cahirciveen, and are considering measures to secure an improvement in its performance. Mr. Begley Mr. Begley 372 Mr. Begley: Can the Minister tell the House when these improvements [372] will take place? People in those areas are paying licence fees and they are not getting the service they are supposed to receive. Mr. G. Collins Mr. G. Collins Mr. G. Collins: Without wishing to repeat myself, I should like to refer to the first part of my answer when I said that the improvement of reception of the programmes is primarily a matter for the authority. Mr. Begley Mr. Begley Mr. Begley: Who appoints the authority? Dáil Éireann 260 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Kerry TV Transposer Station. Questions 19720418
