Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of County Council Cottages.

203. Mr. Corish asked the Minister for Local Government if he will take steps, if necessary by the introduction of legislation, to prevent the sale of freehold county council cottages to non-nationals.

Minister for Local Government (Mr. Molloy): County council cottages purchased in full from the local authority are subject in general to the same laws as ordinary private dwellings. I do not consider that there is a case for differentiating in law as between these cottages [1338] and other types of dwelling in the way suggested by the Deputy.
