57. Mr. Desmond asked the Minister for Labour the current balance in the Redundancy Fund.

Mr. J. Brennan: It is estimated that the balance in the Redundancy Fund at 30th November, 1970, was £1,520,000.

Mr. Desmond: In view of the substantial credit balance of £1.5 million, would the Minister now consider improving the current benefits?

An Ceann Comhairle: That is a separate question.

Mr. J. Brennan: I was hoping to have the Bill before the House in this session.

Mr. Tully: The Minister said he would, as a matter of fact.

Mr. J. Brennan: I introduced it before the Recess and it is almost ready for circulation.
