Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Arms Transfer.

[882] 88. Mr. Desmond asked the Minister or Defence the dates or date on which the former Minister for Defence issued a direction to the Army Chief of Staff to transfer guns and ammunition and any other equipment to the Dundalk area; the amount and purpose of such transfer; the date on which the Taoiseach and the full Cabinet were informed of this decision; and the whereabouts of this equipment as of now.

Mr. Cronin: It is a long-standing practice that, in the interests of security, information is not given about movements and locations of defensive equipment. I am not prepared to depart from that practice.
