Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Security Reports.

7. Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance if he is satisfied that all security reports submitted to his [1934] Department over the past 12 months have been retained in safe keeping; when the smuggling of arms into this country was first adverted to in these reports; and what action was taken thereon.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Colley): I assume that the question refers to reports on matters of State security. No such reports were submitted to my Department in the last 12 months. Reports submitted by customs and excise personnel to the Revenue Commissioners in the usual way in that period are, I understand, retained in safe keeping in accordance with normal practice. They do not advert to arms smuggling.
