Mr. L'Estrange asked the Minister for Justice when special branch detectives were appointed to guard the files in his Department; the number at present guarding such files; and the cost to the State of this measure. Mr. Moran Mr. Moran Mr. Moran: It would be contrary to the public interest to disclose the arrangements with regard to the security of public offices. Mr. L'Estrange Mr. L'Estrange Mr. L'Estrange: Is the Minister for Justice aware that those people were put there for political reasons to guard incriminating files regarding the abuse of public funds which, if made public, would bring down the Government? Mr. Moran Mr. Moran Mr. Moran: I did not say there were any people there. I gave the reply that it would not be in the public interest to disclose if there are people there. I would advise Deputy L'Estrange not to worry—I am personally guarding his own file. Mr. L'Estrange Mr. L'Estrange Mr. L'Estrange: My file? The Minister can expose it any time he likes. Mr. B.
