25. Mr. Gallagher asked the Minister for Justice when it is proposed to erect a new courthouse for Tubbercurry, County Sligo.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Moran): The provision and maintenance of court accommodation is the responsibility of the local authority under section 3 of the Courthouses (Provision and Maintenance) Act, 1935.

I am not aware that the Sligo County Council, whose function it is to provide and maintain court accommodation at Tubbercurry, has any plans for the erection of a new courthouse at that venue.
