Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Local Government when Caherconlish sewerage scheme, County Limerick, was sent to him for sanction; and when approval will be given. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland 962 Mr. Boland: Contract documents for the scheme referred to by the Deputy were approved by my Department on 20th April, 1963, but the local [962] authority subsequently experienced difficulty in acquiring the necessary lands and wayleaves. Having regard to the necessity to conserve available capital for essential works at the present time local authorities have been asked to review the water and sewerage projects which they have in planning so as to identify the more urgent schemes. A decision on the Caherconlish scheme must now await the outcome of this review. Mr. Coughlan Mr. Coughlan 18. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Local Government when Cappamore extension sewerage scheme, County Limerick, was sent to him for sanction; and when approval will be given. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: The preliminary report for this scheme, which was subsequently modified, was submitted to my Department on 14th May, 1965. On 18th January last my Department sanctioned the preparation of contract documents for the revised scheme. I understand that Limerick County Council are awaiting the documents from their consultant. Mr. Coughlan Mr. Coughlan 19. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Local Government when Murroe sewerage scheme, County Limerick, was sent to him for sanction; and when approval will be given. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: Preliminary proposals for this scheme were first received in my Department on 14th May, 1965. Additional data were received on 19th January, 1966, and are still under consideration. I am not in a position to say when a decision thereon is likely to issue. Mr. McAuliffe Mr. McAuliffe 20. Mr. McAuliffe asked the Minister for Local Government when the proposed extension to Castletownroche water supply, County Cork, will be carried out. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland 963 Mr. Boland: This scheme, together with a number of other regional water supply schemes in County Cork and elsewhere, is included in a review of regional schemes which is being carried [963] out by sanitary authorities generally throughout the country. A decision on the scheme must await the outcome of this review. Mr. Coughlan Mr. Coughlan 21. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Local Government when Castleconnell water scheme, County Limerick, was sent to him for sanction; and when approval will be given. Mr. Coughlan Mr. Coughlan 22. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Local Government when Kilbehenny water scheme, County Limerick, was sent to him for sanction; and when approval will be given. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 21 and 22 together. Contract documents for the Kilbehenny water supply scheme and for the Castleconnell water supply extensions scheme No. 2 were submitted to my Department on 7th and 18th February, 1966, respectively. Both schemes, together with a number of other regional water supply schemes in County Limerick and elsewhere, are included in a review of regional schemes generally which is at present being carried out by sanitary authorities throughout the country. A decision on the documents before the Department must await the outcome of the review. Mr. Coughlan Mr. Coughlan 23. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Local Government when Herbertstown water scheme, County Limerick, was sent to him for sanction; and when approval will be given. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: As I indicated in my reply to Question No. 35 of 16th February last, a decision on the preliminary proposals for this scheme, which were submitted to my Department on 17th May, 1966, cannot be arrived at pending clarification of the adequacy of the proposed source to cater for the full demands of the scheme. The further proposals of the sanitary uthority in this matter are still waited. Mr. Coughlan Mr. Coughlan 964 24. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister [964] for Local Government when Mountpelier water scheme, County Limerick, was sent to him for sanction; and when approval will be given. Mr. Boland Mr. Boland Mr. Boland: Preliminary proposals for a water supply scheme for Mountpelier were submitted to my Department on 26th May, 1965. Additional data were submitted on 24th August, 1966. On 5th October, 1966, it was suggested to Limerick County Council that they should consult with Clare County Council as to the feasibility of formulating a joint scheme to provide not only for Mountpelier but also for the adjacent village of O'Briensbridge in County Clare.
