Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin City Clearways.

6. Mr. Moore asked the Minister for Local Government if any complaints have been received from taxi operators or shopkeepers regarding the loss of business to them subsequent to the introduction of traffic clearways in the central parts of Dublin; and, if so, if any action in the matter is contemplated.

Mr. Boland: The temporary rules giving effect to the clearways were made by the Garda Commissioner with my consent, and it is to the Commissioner that complaints, if any, would be addressed, since the modification of the rule is a matter for him in the first instance. I understand that the Commissioner has not received any complaints from shopkeepers but has received representations from taxi [158] operators, which he is at present considering.
