Dáil Éireann - Volume 228 - 25 April, 1967 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo School. Mr. O'Hara Mr. O'Hara 50. Mr. O'Hara asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that a temporary school which was provided about two years ago for the schoolchildren of Treenbeg, Newport, County Mayo was blown down by storms last December; and what steps he proposes to take to have a new school provided for the children of this area. Mr. O'Malley Mr. O'Malley 34 Mr. O'Malley: At present there are only 28 pupils on the roll of this [34] school and the indications are that in a few years the enrolment would fall to about 20. Accordingly, on educational and other grounds the provision of a new school would not be warranted. I am satisfied, therefore, that the school should be amalgamated with larger schools in the parish and my Department is proceeding on that basis. Mr. Coogan Mr. Coogan Mr. Coogan: Extermination, promised by the Minister. Dáil Éireann 228 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Mayo School. Questions 19670425
