Dáil Éireann - Volume 227 - 13 April, 1967

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Retirement from FCA.

15. Mr. McLaughlin asked the Minister for Defence if NCOs and men who serve in the FCA must retire at a particular age; if so, at what age; and if credit will be given to those who served in the LDF during the 1940 to 1945 emergency.

Minister for Defence (Mr. Hilliard): Non-commissioned officers and privates of An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil are not permitted to serve beyond the age of 60 years, irrespective of whether or not they had service in the Local Defence Force during the Emergency. I do not propose to alter this position.
