Mr. Corry asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that some seven houses in good condition, the property of his Department, are at present untenanted on Spike Island, Cobh; and if in view of the extreme housing shortage in Cobh he will take immediate steps to have the houses let to suitable applicants. Minister for Defence (Mr. Hilliard) Michael Hilliard 2132 Minister for Defence (Mr. Hilliard): The only vacant houses in Spike Island are married quarters which may be allocated to serving personnel of the Permanent Defence Force. Mr. Hilliard Mr. Hilliard Mr. Hilliard: It has nothing to do with it, but security is a thing that must be maintained also.
