Question declared carried.

An Ceann Comhairle: Deputy Seán Dunne is suspended from the service of the House. I must call on the Deputy to leave the House, according to the decision.

Mr. S. Dunne: I was grossly insulted here by a so-called representative of the Bible Belt and I am not going to leave the House, as a protest against that kind of attack, which I will not take from him or any of his class.

An Ceann Comhairle: The House has decided that Deputy S. Dunne is to leave the House. I ask him again to leave the House.

Mr. S. Dunne: With respect to the Chair, I feel I must take this stand in the interest of ordinary good manners in this House. If nobody else will inculcate it, I will do my best to do so.

Mr. Cluskey: They would not know what he is talking about.

Mr. Andrews: I object to the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown constituency being described as a Bible Belt. Deputy Booth is one of the people of the highest integrity in this House.

Mr. Cluskey: He is an arch-reactionary.

Mr. Andrews: He is not a reactionary.

Mr. S. Dunne: You are too young to know.

[1951] Mr. Andrews: I am old enough to know what you are.

An Ceann Comhairle: I must ask that Deputy S. Dunne be escorted from the House.

The Captain of the Guard approached Deputy S. Dunne, who refused to leave his seat.

An Ceann Comhairle: In view of the fact that Deputy S. Dunne refuses to leave the House, I must suspend the sitting until 8 o'clock.

Sitting suspended at 7.35 p.m. and resumed at 8 p.m.
