Mr. Lindsay asked the Minister for Local Government how far advanced the plans are to have suitable public conveniences erected in the town of Ballina, County Mayo. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: A preliminary proposal submitted by Ballina Urban District Council for the erection of a public sanitary convenience at Ham Bridge is at present under consideration in my Department. I hope to be in a position to convey my decision shortly. Mr. O'Hara Mr. O'Hara Mr. O'Hara: Is the Minister aware that this matter has been a long time in the hands of the Department and will he now take the necessary steps to give a favourable decision? Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: That is what we are about to do. Does the Deputy object? Mr. O'Hara Mr. O'Hara Mr. O'Hara: May I take it that it will be favourable? Mr. Sweetman Mr. Sweetman Mr. Sweetman: It depends on whether there is a by-election in the offing. Would it be swapped for the biscuit factory in Ballina?
