Dáil Éireann - Volume 220 - 03 February, 1966 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin House Vacancies. Mr. Ryan Mr. Ryan 11. Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Local Government the number of rented housing units in the Dublin Corporation area in which there were vacancies in the year ended 31st March 1965; and the number of vacancies since that date. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: I understand that there were 510 vacancies in the corporation's housing estate during the year ended 31st March, 1965, and 326 vacancies in the period from 1st April, 1965, to 31st December, 1965. Mr. Dillon Mr. Dillon Mr. Dillon: Perhaps the Minister would clarify that. When he speaks of vacancies, he does not mean, I take it, that that number of houses stand waiting for tenants at this moment. It means actually they were handed over. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: They became vacant and were re-let. Mr. Ryan Mr. Ryan Mr. Ryan: I should not like it to go on record that they have all been re-let. There are quite a number of vacancies. The houses are not re-let fast enough. Dáil Éireann 220 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Dublin House Vacancies. Questions 19660203
