Dáil Éireann - Volume 216 - 22 June, 1965 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick City Swimming Pools. Mr. T. O'Donnell Mr. T. O'Donnell 57. Mr. T. O'Donnell asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position regarding the provision of swimming pools for Limerick city; and when construction work is likely to commence. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: Draft plans for a swimming pool submitted to me by Limerick Corporation were approved subject to some suggestions in regard to detail which were made by my Department. Since the introduction of the prototype swimming pool which I have had designed, Limerick Corporation, in common with all other sanitary authorities who propose to provide pools, have been requested to re-examine their plans in the light of the new development which makes low-cost pools a practical possibility. I am awaiting a report from the corporation on their re-examination of plans and cannot therefore say when construction of the pool is likely to commence. Dáil Éireann 216 Ceisteanna—Questions.
