Dáil Éireann - Volume 214 - 23 February, 1965 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Services. Mr. Burke Mr. Burke 853 29. Mr. Burke asked the Minister for Local Government what it cost to [853] extend water and sewerage to council houses in County Dublin during the past five years. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: I understand from Dublin County Council that the cost of extending water and sewerage services to council houses during the past five years was £57,025. Mr. O.J. Flanagan Mr. O.J. Flanagan 30. Mr. O.J. Flanagan asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give sanction to the Offaly County Council to go ahead with the work of extending the water main from the town supply at Ballyclare, Ferbane, County Offaly, as this is a very urgent matter in so far as the residents of newly-erected houses in the area are concerned; and if the matter will be finalised without delay. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: This proposal has been approved. Mr. S. Dunne Mr. S. Dunne 31. Mr. S. Dunne asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that a water supply is urgently needed for five cottages at Coultry, Cloughran, County Dublin; and that the existing supply is only a quarter of a mile away at a cottage (name given) on the Ballymun Road; and if he will urge the council to provide this essential amenity for the families concerned. Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney Mr. Blaney: I am informed that the cottages are served by a public pump provided by Dublin County Council at the site of the cottages. I understand that the county council consider that it would not be practicable to extend the public water main, which is about threequarters of a mile away, to provide these cottages with a piped supply.
