Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of County Wicklow Cottage.

23. Mr. M.J. O'Higgins asked the Minister for Local Government the reasons for the continued delay in vesting in the applicant (name supplied) of cottage No. 8/1 Baltinglass under the Wicklow County Council Cottage Purchase Scheme, having regard to the fact that in a reply of 3rd December, 1963 he stated that he understood that the necessary documents were being prepared and that the Council expected to be in a position to vest it in the then near future.

Mr. Blaney: My reply of the 3rd December, 1963, was based on information supplied by Wicklow County Council at that time. I am now informed that the cottage has not yet been vested and that the delay is due to a number of factors including a shortage of technical staff to deal with the considerable backlog of applications. I understand that the rate of vesting has improved during the current financial year and I have asked that the particular case to which the Deputy refers be dealt with as quickly as possible.
