27. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Defence the total area in square miles of waters included in the new twelve-mile limits; and the number of patrol boats at present employed in patrolling these waters.

Mr. Bartley: The total area of the waters included in the new 12 mile fishery limits provided for in the Maritime Jurisdiction (Amendment) Act, 1964 is 15,136 square miles. The Act has not yet come into operation.
