Dáil Éireann - Volume 213 - 15 December, 1964
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Reserve Grants.
Mr. Tierney Mr. Tierney
26. Mr. Tierney asked the Minister for Defence whether he has yet reached a decision to raise the annual grants payable to the First Line Reserve of Officers; and whether, in view of the fact that these grants have not been increased since 1926 and are now totally inadequate, he will take immediate steps to make a substantial increase in them.
Minister for Defence (Mr. Bartley) Gerald Bartley
Minister for Defence (Mr. Bartley): I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave in the House on 10th of last month to a similar question tabled by Deputy Patrick O'Donnell. The question of increasing annual grants for Reserve Officers and Reservists is still under consideration, and I am unable to say at present when a decision is likely to be reached.
