Additional Estimate, 1963-64: Leave to Introduce.

Leave granted to introduce the following Additional Estimate for the service of the year ending on 31st March, 1964:

—Minister for Finance.

Mr. Sweetman: Do I understand that this is an entirely new Estimate under an entirely new heading?

Dr. Ryan: This is the ninth round of wage and salary increases for the two months up to 31st March.

Mr. Hilliard: The one Fine Gael were beaten on.

Mr. O'Sullivan: You have to pay for it now—fourpence on the lb. of [67] meat in Cork, twopence on the loaf of bread.

Mr. T. Lynch: And what about the rates?

Mr. M.J. O'Higgins: The Minister for Posts and Telegraphs gave the game away there.

Mr. Hilliard: The chaos is over there.

Mr. O'Sullivan: The prophet of Montrose.
