Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers - Galway Oyster Beds.

60. Mrs. Hogan O'Higgins asked the Minister for Lands if he will take steps to define the boundaries of the oyster beds at Clarenbridge and Maree, County Galway, in order to prevent disputes between the owners of the private beds and the fishers of the public beds.

Mr. Lenihan: I am not in a position to secure the specific information regarding private and public rights which would be required for the purposes of defining the boundaries in question.

61. Mrs. Hogan O'Higgins asked the Minister for Lands if he will take immediate steps to have a survey and report carried out on the Galway oyster fishery with a view to having oyster beds re-seeded where necessary.

Mr. Lenihan: It is intended to have a survey of the public oyster fishery at Clarenbridge carried out during the year with a view to considering ways and means of improving the fishery.
