38. Mr. Corish asked the Minister for Education when he expects to be in a position to publish the Report of the Commission on Higher Education.

[332] Dr. Hillery: The Commission on Higher Education, as indicated in my reply to a question on 6th November, hopes to present a report in the coming year. A decision regarding publication of the report will be taken when it is received.

Mr. Corish: It will be well over a year, then, before the report is published ? The Minister said he expects to get the report next year.

Dr. Hillery: There are all sorts of possibilities about that.

Mr. Corish: The Minister could not be nearer in his forecast ? Could he be more definite than he is now?

Dr. Hillery Dr. Hillery

Dr. Hillery: No. The commission are working very hard.
