19. Mr. McLaughlin asked the Minister for Local Government when the detailed provisions of the new housing scheme will be announced; and from what date it will be operative.

Minister for Local Government (Mr. Blaney): The new Housing Bill will be introduced in the Dáil as soon as practicable. As already announced jointly by myself and by the Minister for Lands, the increased loans, grants and subsidies will apply to building work commenced on and after 1st October, 1963.
