Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Polish Coal Prices.

15. Mr. S. Dunne asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that a number of coal merchants had stocked up with Polish coal well in advance of the recent increase in coal prices; that these stocks were, and are being, sold at the increased price plus turnover tax charges; and what steps he proposes to take to protect consumers' interests in this matter.

[1924] Minister for Industry and Commerce (Mr. J. Lynch): I am not so aware. My information is that for some time past Irish importers generally have been experiencing considerable difficulty in procuring supplies of Polish coal.
