33. Mr. Kitt asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when it is expected that Telefís Éireann will commence transmitting programmes from Gort (Maghera) station, County Galway.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Hilliard): I understand that the Authority hopes to commence transmissions from Gort (Maghera) on reduced power on 10th February.

Mr. Coogan: Could the Minister indicate what he means by reduced power?

Mr. Hilliard: The transmitter will not be working on full power until later on.

Mr. Coogan: But, in the meantime, he will ask for the full licence fee?
