Dáil Éireann - Volume 199 - 29 January, 1963 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Tipperary Houses. Mr. Tierney Mr. Tierney 19. Mr. Tierney asked the Minister for Local Government the reasons for the delay in sanctioning a compulsory purchase order for the building of a group of houses, which was forwarded to him by the North Tipperary County Council in 1961. Minister for Social Welfare (Mr. Boland) (for the Minister for Local Government) Kevin Boland Minister for Social Welfare (Mr. Boland) (for the Minister for Local Government): There has been no avoidable delay in dealing with the compulsory purchase order to which the Deputy refers. On 17th August, 1962, I confirmed the Order as respects 30 of the 40 sites contained therein. Acquisition of the remaining 10 sites was the subject of objections and a public local inquiry was held to consider these objections. Examination of the evidence taken at the inquiry and reports on the sites is in progress and I expect to be in a position to issue a decision on the Order very shortly.
