15. Mr. Coogan asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he is aware that the CIE ferry to the Aran Islands will not sail on Christmas Eve, and that consequently a large number of islanders will not get home for Christmas; and if he will take steps to remedy this situation.

Mr. Childers: I am informed by CIE that the omission from the regular list of sailings of the Aran Islands ferry, of a service on Christmas Eve, was due to a typographical error. A service will in fact operate on that day and the Board has confirmed that adequate publicity will be given to it.
