107. Mr. Coughlan asked the Minister for Education whether his Department have investigated the recent reports that a collar of gold which is the rightful property of Ireland is at present in the possession of a London museum; and whether he has taken any steps with a view to having the collar returned to this country.

Dr. Hillery: I have investigated the recent reports referred to by the Deputy and I am having the matter examined with a view to ascertaining what legal grounds, if any, there might be for seeking the return of the object in question.
