25. Mr. O.J. Flanagan asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to instal a softening plant at Ferbane water supply, Ferbane, County Offaly; if he is aware of the urgent need for such an installation; and what steps are being taken to provide it.

Mr. Blaney: I am not aware of any proposal to provide a softening plant for Ferbane water supply or of any special need for such a plant. The matter is one in the first instance for the sanitary authority.
